Re: Axis Non-Armored Vehicles quiz
The prototype Dampfschlepper by Skoda. It had only one use as far as I can see that that was to save petrol

Thanks, here is an easy one but it is my favourite photograph of such a vehicle.

Thank you, Alan.
The tarn probably gives this one away. Extra credit for the time period/location of the pic.

Re: Axis Non-Armored Vehicles quiz
Max, the camo scheme is pre-war Italian and the vehicle is the initial series of Lancia 3RO fitted with some form of recovery equipment.

Re: Axis Non-Armored Vehicles quiz
Yes Alan, you are correct on all counts. This photo is ostensibly of a 1935 3RO somewhere in Spain during the Civil War.
Carry on, Sir!

Hi Max,
I think it is instead of a Lancia 3RO a Isotta Fraschini D80 NM from 1936 in Spain.

Re: Axis Non-Armored Vehicles quiz
To Alan and Protze I extend my apologies. I inadvertantly transposed the caption with that of another truck I intended to originally submit. I rechecked and this one is in fact labelled 1935 Isotta Fraschini D80NM Spain1936.http://www.dieselpunks.org/profiles/blo ... 92-italianprotze wrote:Hi Max,

It appears that you are correct, protze. It's your turn now. Sorry Alan.

Thanks for the encouragement, Bill. I should have learned by now to "measure twice, cut once" before clicking the Submit button.

Re: Axis Non-Armored Vehicles quiz
Hello protze and Happy New Year!
Could it be a Gräf & Stift, perhaps a V 17ND? The cab on this one is a little different but from there on forward it looks quite similar.

Hi Max,
You give the right answer. The quiz is yours! The cab of the truck was made by a bodybuilder, which was usual in those days.
