A Fiat 6XX of LAH in 1943 , safe saying this because I don't know the exact model number but I do recognise the SS number plate.

Hi Alan,
I have no idea from where Pz III's picture has come, nor from which times thay started to delete SS letters from the number plates, but on the original the plate is much easier to recognize :D

BTW, I'll never confuse this truck with any other Italian COE (Fiat 626, 665, 666; Isotta-Fraschini 80, etc.) Well, maybe only with Alfa Romeo 430, for they were externally the same, looking from the front
Cheers!

Hi ilfil
You are correct on the truck ID. I don't know the context of when or where photo was taken but I believe Alan is correct. Thanks your turn.

Hi Rich,
I have no choice than to agree with Alan about the unit, I'm not much into the number plates and most probably I was misled by a magazine caption. I did my best to check the things but such SS number plate batch wasn't mentioned at all in the only place on the subject I'm aware of, this one:
http://www.wwiidaybyday.com/emblems/num ... ilung2.htm
Nothing to wonder, only 1940 plates are there :(
However, for the truck I was right at least
To keep your grey cells ticking, here is my picture:

Cheers and good luck!
