Abandoned weapons and equipment in Znojmo (Czechoslovakia)

#1

Search for new pictures of abandoned weapons and equipment in Znojmo. More interesting ex-soviet germans captured tanks and SPG from the another equipment.

The pictures show destroyed equipment shortly after the end of war in Czechoslovakia. Most pics come from railway station in south Moravian town Znojmo (former Czechoslovakia, now Czech Republic), where was collected destroyed equipment.

Pictures from Tomas Jakl's book "May 1945 in the Czech Lands" and HPM magazine.

Also some pictures on the link:

With best regards, Vasily.

Very nice and detailed overview! :D

I think it is probably right that the 3 Tiger II on the round place are from sPzAbt.503, but the 2 Tiger II on the railways are belonged to sPzAbt.509.

Some more shots of the 509 Tigers:

Both those Panthers have the turret numbers 123 so the pcitures must show the same vehicle.

Best regards/ Daniel

from "Magyar Steel" by C.Becze
"it is interesting to note that in early 1945 several operable Turan and Zrinyis were left at the railway station of Sturovo and near Bratislava in Slovakian territory, because the germans promised the crews german vehicles."
I asked to me the same question :)

We can see 2 pictures of zrinyis in Bratislava in May 1945 in"Czechoslovak Armored Fighting Vehicles 1918-1948" by Charles Kliment and Vladimir Francev.
"several zrinyi 2 were found in cz after the war and one of them was repaired by Skoda in 1947 reused by cz army for training unitil the 50's"

thanks for your info., Rnox:)

then it would be really interesting to find out if the Germans made good their words, i think even the Germans themselves were extremely lack of AFV by that time...
