Hi Pi . chi!
I am also interested in building one of these vehicles. I do have some information about them including some dimensions etc. A lot of information is available in books and some is online, but with some conflicting data.
Where are you going to get an original chassis? These are very rare now!

Re: Sdkfz 222
By the way, does anyone know where I can get a roadwheel for one of these vehicles?
I mean the 18 inch one. Or, does anyone have more details about these wheels?

Hello to all ; more follows..............
Sd Kfz 222 in action................
According to the auction it is a Sd Kfz 222 operating in a port area and in the background a German battleship. Any chance of finding out when, where and what ship is seen in the background?

TIA. Cheers. Raúl M .

Re: Sdkfz 222
Hmmm, my first impression was Toulon. Ship looks like rear view of Dunkerque

Re: Sdkfz 222
One of the best and clearest photos I have come across showing the tactical symbol for an armored car company. I would speculate that this photo dates to the French campaign. Also of interest is the National eagle between the visors but I cant explain the bouquets of flowers decorating the vehicles unless they are lined up for participation in some kind of ceremony.

Hello to all ;
that type of marking on the vehicles (the cross outlined in white) was used also during the peaceful annexations carried out by Germany before the war. Nice picture indeed. Cheers. Raúl M .I would speculate that this photo dates to the French campaign
