thank You for Your reply. I´ve found now a source that confirms the designation Itf. 14 for the limber of the 75mm infantry gun 18: in the booklet "Deutsche leichte und schwere Infanteriegeschütze" by Wolfgang Fleischer.

Hi Bert and Sturm

I have checked a couple of other references, Christoph Awender's KtsN for the Infanteriegeschützkompanie (2 s., 6 l.I.G.)
KStN 171 (1.10.1937) says they are If.14.

Waffen Arsenal 153 Deutsche Infanteriekarren, Heersfeldwagen und Heersschlitten 1900-1945 states they are If.12/1, the author is Wolfgang Fleischer. So if he is calling them by both titles how are we going to sort it out :?

I find it strange that the more common something is the less information there appears to be on it. All infantry regiments would have had a gun company, most would have been horse drawn. Therefore there would have been hundreds of limbers for the 7.5 cm IG 18 yet we do not clearly know what it was called. There were only a few Tiger tanks in comparision yet the movement of each one is almost known. :|

Agreed in toto, Clive, and then some. I don't have access to an original copy of HdV.476/2, but I would imagine (and hope) that many of the answers sought by those who follow this thread might be found there.

Hi Clive,

I agree with you.
In general there is very little information about all germans horse-drawn wagons in WW2, despite the fact that the German Army was largely non-motorized and the thousands of copies of horse-drawn wagons that had to be manufactured in WW2. 8O :(

Hi Strum

Looks too small for a Hf.2 and a little too tall in the body for a Hf.3. My suggestion is a Hf.1.

Agreed again, Clive.

The Hf.2 is significantly taller than the Hf.1, and the driver's footrest is raised with two support bars at either front corner. The Hf.3 is very similar to the Hf.1, but is noticeably smaller. With a driver for scale, this almost hast to be an Hf.1.

Hi,

here a pic of a for me unknown wagon. Maybe someone knows more about this wagon, maybe even the designation. Thanks in advance. Source of the pic: expired ebay auction.

Regards
