Re: Photothread: Field Kitchens in Context
Sorry, it is not exactly a kitchen. Perhaps a trailer used for pasturization?

Re: Photothread: Field Kitchens in Context
Hi Luftflotte 2,
thank You very much for posting these interesting pics. The trailer is indeed a kitchen trailer, one of the vehicles of the so called "Hilfszug Bayern" (aid motor squad Bavaria), a great mobile unit (about 60 vehicles). The priority of this unit was the catering of many people on great events like the NSDAP-Reichsparteitag in Nurenberg, up to 30.000 meals a day. Here a pic of this unit in action (in the back the kitchen vehicles with the chimneys).
Best regards
Bert

An Interesting fact about these Sd. Ah. 106 Bakery Trailers: According to Holger 106 loaves of bread could be baked per trailer in two hours, the normal company of five such trailers producing 9,600 breads per day!
Cheers,
Max

Hello Luftflotte,
The upper left pic in the photo montage is quite interesting. I believe they are ex-Austrian Feldbacköfen M 01/29's which are rarely seen (at least for me).
