Hi,

here a pic of a captured French field kitchen (cousine roulante-remorque Mle 1916 . 1936 M. 38). Source of the pic: an expired ebay auction.

A really good photo, Viktor.

Trucks from Hamburg, civilian originally I am sure. Advertising Mors Honey.
Also, my German is terrible, "We come from the Sudeten" "Monday we will be eating mud".
Thanks for sharing it.

Well, it's not high German, it's "Hamburger Platt". The civilian licence plates indicate "HH" for "Hansestadt Hamburg" (City and district).
Hummel, Hummel is the local greeting. Mors, Mors is/ was the reply to it.
The sketched figure is the popular water bearer Hans Hummel (real name, Johann Wilhelm Bentz) from whom this "greeting" is said to have originated. There are several versions of the true origin of this "greeting".
"Wi kommt von de Sudeten" means We are coming from the Sudeten (somewhere far away).
"Mondag wüllt wi bi modder eten" means Monday we want to eat at mom's again (be back, home again).

Thank you very much Christian for correcting my translation efforts.

I should have learned by now to not trust "Google Translate" when it comes to local German dialects or slang.

From now on, I think I will concentrate my translation efforts on Swedish and Spanish, my second and third languages.

Again, may I say it is a very interesting photo with a lot more "personality" than we usually see when it comes to vehicle pictures.

You are welcome, Bill. I'm glad to have helped out a bit.
I agree with your last statement.

Not a field kitchen per se, but a field bakery for a greater unit instead.

Hi Raúl,

the wagon of the field bakery is a special trailer with the designation Sd.Ah. 106. Here a good pic (source of the pic: http://www.ddr-modellbau.aktiv-forum.com).

Best regards
