Hi Sturm 78,

thank You for posting this interesting pics of field kitchens, especially the last one with pneumatic wheels. I think it must be a field modification. To the ID of the types: the field kitchen You posted 10th August is the type Hf. 13,the one You posted 14th Augst is the type Hf. 14.

Best regards

Bert

Hi Bert and Sturm 78,

What puzzled me about Sturm's Aug.10th photo was the lack of a raised compartment on the right hand side which I've seen on most Hf. 13's as can be seen on this photo Bert posted some time ago:

Hi Max,

a really good question. The field kitchens with the raised compartement are the newer models of the field kitchen Hf. 13. Here three pics of the elder model of the Hf. 13 without the roasting and stewing unit and two compartments of the right side (source of the pics: "Gulschkanonen - Feldküchen - Bäckereien" by Horst Hinrichsen.

Best regards

Bert

A question for the resident Feldküche Experten: Most pictures of the Sd. Ah. 401 I've seen have the chimney located to the left of center of the feed boiler. This photo shows what I believed to be a beute 401 in use by the Red Army. However, the chimney appears to be on the right hand side as are the other pics from http://www.dws-xip.pl/encyklopedia/vsdah401-de/. Were there several variantsofthe type?
