Camouflaged Paint Designs on Vehicles

Discussions on the vehicles used by the Axis forces.
Long-time forum member Ron Klages (1939 - 2007) generously shared his knowledge and the results of his impressive research with the forum, and this section has therefore been renamed in his honour.

Carius, That Pz IV has the 6 PD Kursk marking on it and the commander's initial after the Panzer rhomboid too, not that i know who "W" was.

Hi Alan,

Surely those markings are on the rear "box" of an 18 ton SdKfz 9/1 that is lifting the turret off the panzer, and would then not the "W" be for the "Werkstatt" company ?

And it is a Panzer III and not a Panzer IV.

Spannerman, Of course it is on the Famo    The Op is clearly visible on the Pz III, the W would be inside the rhomboid if it was the Werkstatt company but it could be, 6 PD did some odd things to its markings !
