krupp protze
krupp protze
I came across a photo on the book "Trucks of the Wehrmacht" That shows a rotating 3.7 cm pak gun mounted on it. This is the only referance to this I have seen. Does anybody have any Info on these trucks.
How many were there?
what units had them?
The book does say that only the krupp protzes had them (pak guns on swivel mounts) . The unit the truck in the photo belongs to is Mountain Panzerjager Unit 44.

Nordmann, There are a great many pics of the various Krupp Boxers with the Pak 36 mounted both armoured and unarmoured. You will find several of them on the "Interesting ebay pics" thread.

Re: Krupp Protze
While on the subject of this type of vehicle, has anyone got any close up photos of the rectangular shaped generator that was housed in the back when the vehicle was used to tow 60cm searchlights (Kfz 83).There is a very grainy photo of such a vehicle on Page 115 of 'German Military Transport of World War Two' by John Milsom (Arms & Armour Press 1975).I'd be interested in the dimensions and what the other sides of the generator look like.
