Very good ! Now I understand the organization of a 105-mm howitzer battery.SIS 5 wrote:Hi Adrian,
Maybe you are right and there were some variations during the war. I'm referring the sources I could find. Here another drawing of a battery (light with 10,5 cm howitzers) from the year 1939 and a list of soldiers and vehicles of such a battery from 1941 (source: "Die bespannten Truppen der Wehrmacht" by Klaus Christian Richter).

Re: German trailers
Well the action in the trailer forum has seemed rather slow. I have some time and plenty of questions in relation to trailers. I will start with a trailer image which does not bear a WH or WL licence plate number. The trailer has its own winch system to pull the logs on. The photo is probably as the licence plate suggests, civilian use and may even be out of WWII era. Can anyone identify the trailer type for me or era of use? or the vehicle type in front which may also help with identify the trailer. Any information or thoughts are welcome.

Re: German trailers
Hi fliegerhorst
After finding the photo, please could you do a direct link it would make life easier for those who wish to help you, there is nothing in the photo to suggest it is from WW2, or in military service. It looks like any commercial logging trailer.

Re: German trailers
Thanks clive, yes civilian use is probably whats going on. But any thoughts on the era ? when where trailer winch systems introduced ? as logging trailers like the sd. Ah. 113 had its own crane attached for the process of adding logs on board. Does any one have more information on this type of trailer or even what type of vehicle is towing it ?

*Sd. Ah. 113 own crane attached (i mean to the unit as a separate piece not actually to the trailer as in the photo of this specific trailer)
