You make a good case, Bert.
The wheels are more similar.
Here is a pic of a 900N from Holger's site.

The 802 pic I have is much longer and I don't have an 801 either.
Too bad it is taken from the door side so it is harder to compare the window configuration at the back.
Cheers,
Max

Hi Sturm 78,

thank You very much for posting this very interesting pic of this Mercedes-Benz bus. It must be a special version produced for the navy (WM - ). I think it is the type Lo 3750, because the navy got busses of this type.

Regards

Bert

Hi,

here a pic of a Ford bus, not so common in Germany. Here the type V 8 - 51 (source of the pic: an expired ebay auction).

I agree with you, Bert. It must be a special bodied Lo or O 3750.

Did the RM also have O 3750's as well?

Hi Max,

sorry I cannot give You an answer to Your question. But here a pic of a Mercedes-Benz bus type Lo 3750 produced for the navy (WM) in 1936 (source of the pic: "Mercedes-Benz Lastwagen und Omnibusse 1896 - 1986" by Werner Oswald.

Hi Bert,
I find it very difficult to tell the Lo from the O models. Maybe this is why: If I read Holger correctly the Lo had the simple horizontal louvers but in 1937 they were used on the O series as well:
Commencing in 1936, engine bonnet side plates with each four horizontal louvres were used. In 1937, the Lo 3750 was renamed O 3750 without any noticeable changes in the construction.
http://www.kfzderwehrmacht.de/Homepage_ ... _3750.html
Thus I would say your 1936 bus above with the vertical louvers was probably an O 3750 and Sturm 78's original pic either an Lo as you initially suggested or a post 1936 O.
Cheers,
Max

Hi Max,

sorry for my late reply, but I was a few days in Austria. I absolutely agree with You. After all it´s really a problem exactly to ID these types of busses. Here another example of a Mercedes-Benz Lo 3750 out of the "Autotypenbuch:Typentafeln der Deutschen Kraftfahrzeugindustrie" from the year 1936.

Bert

Yes indeed, Bert. And each one differs in the louver detail to some degree. :?

A Krupp Dienstwagen. Based on the Simplex rims I would guess it to be an O/OD 4 N chassis. Westfalen license plate, possibly taken at their Essen works?

Hi jakszach, hi Max,

Your bus, jakszach, is the type Z 1 I think,

and Max, I agree with You that it is the type O 4 N or OD 4 N, maybe 262.

Regards

Bert

Hello Sturm,
I would say quite definitely a typical Type 650N bus of the Reichspost.
Cheers,
Max
