Bloody Hansa Lloyd/Borgwards

Discussions on the vehicles used by the Axis forces.
Long-time forum member Ron Klages (1939 - 2007) generously shared his knowledge and the results of his impressive research with the forum, and this section has therefore been renamed in his honour.

Bloody Hansa Lloyd/Borgwards

As this term has become at least a little popular on this forum, I start another thread dealing only with the various versions of this seemingly very poorly documented marque.

Here a few photos from my documents file that should be old enough that they have not been posted before.

I will rely on my friend, our friend, Henning to try to supply the proper model identification.

good morning Bill,

thank you very much for opening this "special" thread. I am not a expert  but yes I am very interesst in the "bloody" :) HL/Borgward Trucks.
I hope we get many messages and unknown pics in this thread.
Now I will try to Id your pics.
The first is very difficult , for me there are many different characteristics from 2 HL-typs "Europa" and "Merkur"
I think at last its a Merkur III. I think we saw it once more here some weeks ago, may be last year.
Your following 4 pics are Borgward 3 Tonner Benzin GW
and the small truck ,is a pre war HL 1,5t "Columbus"
I dont think your passenger car is a HL or Borgward car.
Thats only my opinion, it dont must be correct, lets discuss it.

best regards
Henning

for Bert:
a little bit damaged bus :)

Hi Henning:
Sorry, my last photo is an Adler 2.5 liter sedan. I clicked on the wrong photo.
I will put up some more photos after I get some coffee.

A great " search-pic" from George

His head-line was wrong, better 2 Borgward 3 Tonner Benzin GW

Hi Bill,

another great idea from You with this thread about Hansa-Lloyd and Borgward vehicles. Thank You very much. I´m very interested in these vehicles, like other do. I hope I can also take part in this thread and post from time to time a pic of Hansa or Borgward.

Hi Henning,

thank You very much for the pic with the Hansa-Lloyd bus.

Hy Larry,

thanks to You, too, for the pic with the Hansa-Lloyd busses. To Your question: it is not a Borgward, but a Büssing-NAG truck . I think it is the model Burglöwe type 25. I´ll post a pic of such a truck (source: Bernd Regenburg: Das Lastwagen-Album Büssing).

Regards

Bert
