Hi,

here once more the special Luftwaffe crane, which is designated "Kfz-Aufsetzkran 3t" (attachable motor-vehicle crane 3 tons).

It had a weight of 1400 kg and could be attached to several 3 tons lorries (it was delivered to the troop seperatelly without lorry). It had a capacity of 3 tons at a radius of the crane of 2.5 meters over the end of the platform, respectively 2 tons at a radius uf 3.25 meters. The largest high of the crane hook was 5.5 meters. The lifting speed (depending of the weight of the load) was 5 to 15 cm/min. (source of the information: Holger Erdmann in this subject).

Regards

Bert

Hi Luftflotte 2,

thank You very much for these for me very interesting pics with the Faun crane. The soldiers are assembling / putting together a S- Brücke (S-bridge) with the help of the crane. S-Brücke is the abbreviation for "schwere Schiffsbrücke" (heavy ship bridge).

Best regards

Bert

Thanks for the info Bert! I see two types of counter-weights in those photos.

Ford with a rear bench seat.
