Re: Motorcycles of Wehrmacht
The RT100 is a quite famous little machine...given that it led directly to the ubiquitous RT 125; it was DKW-Auto Union's attempt to cash in on the sub-100cc market opened up in Germany by Fitchel&Sachs and NSU's little 97/98cc engines, often sold to small third-party manufacturers or larger concerns wanting to badge their "own" smallest model in a range...

Twenty years ago we had Johnny Cash, Bob Hope and Steve Jobs. Now we have no Cash, no Hope and no Jobs....

Re: Motorcycles of Wehrmacht
I'm no bike expert (obviously) so I'm trying to ID this NSU with this particular pipe configuration. 351? Note the civilan plate and white tunic. What is he?
Cheers,
Max

Re: Motorcycles of Wehrmacht
Hi Max,
I can fill in some uniform detail, but not all. He is wearing a M16 helmet, updated with Third Reich decal, is carrying a Mauser G98 of WW1/Weimar vintage, and has a RAD hewer hanging from his waist. He also has a cross-strap from his waist belt. It looks almost like he has put on everything he could find to make himself look military. The jacket looks like a drill or work tunic, so no insignia. Sorry that I cannot help further,
Kerry.

Re: Motorcycles of Wehrmacht
Thanks, Kerry. His getup looked so curious and the bike looked so clean that I was wondering if he may have been a nicely photoshopped reenactor.kerryboo wrote:Hi Max,

Hi Max,
You are right, the motorbike on Your pic is obviously, as far as I can say, the type 351 OSL.
