Hello,
I need a little help. In the Kriegstagebuch of Hans-Joachim Jung I have found this passage about training camp in Wischau (today Vyškov in Czech republic):
"Der Kommandeur dieses Ausbildungslagers war ein älterer General-Major aus der berühmten Familie von Puttkamer. Er war von kleiner Statur und ich habe ihn die wenigen Male, die ich ihn überhaupt zu Gesicht bekam, nur auf einem Pferd reitend gesehen. So machte er wenigstens eine imposante Figur."
This memory is dated to the August 1944. Do you have any idea, who this Generalmajor could be? I think that there is a mistake in the spelling of the generals name, so I thought that it could be Generalleutnant Jesko von Puttkamer, but this man was promoted to Generalleutnant in 1942 and also retired in this year.
Any ideas, or it´s just a mistake in the Jung´s memories?
Thanks for responses

Re: Generalmajor von Puttkamer?
More likely to be Alfred. Jesko was a huge bear of a man.

Re: Generalmajor von Puttkamer?
Thanks guys for our suggestion. It is more possible that it could be Alfred, but there is still some mistake. Is it possible that Alfred von Puttkamer was recalled from the retirement and was placed as a commander in Wischau military training area?
