Hello to all :D; a little complement................

Panzerkampfwagen 35 (t) in the Panzerwaffe.

The 6. Pz (PR 11) was the only unit within the Armored Forces equipped with Czech tanks Skoda LT 35 (Light Tank mod 1935) designated as Pz Kw 35 (t) with a weight of 10 ton, a crew of 4 men and armed with a gun of 37 mm L/42 plus 2 machine guns of 7.92 mm. It was fitted with the FuG 5 (10-watt transmitter/receiver) and the FuG 2 (receiver) radio equipment. The Germans also added a fourth crew member to act as a loader (as it was requested by the Divisional Commander), giving space in the turret but increasing the rate of fire of the Pz Kw 35 (t) which was comparable to the German PzKpfw III and was an important addition to the Armored Branch.

This tank was in use as MBT still in the early stages of Barbarossa; the regiment had 103 Pz Kw 35 (t) at the beginning of the campaign and none was in service by Nov 30, 1941.

A PzKpfw 35(t) from the same series (vehicle number 13.831) in the streets of Winniza. The vehicle is located at the corner of Sobornaya street with the main street in the center of Winniza. The building in the background will become the "Stadtkommissariat".

The tank is followed by a command vehicle bearing the number V.3039. Both vehicles show a camouflage pattern and bear Slowak insignia at the sides of the turret(s).

The picture is taken on July 21 1941 when the Slowak mot. Brigade crossed the town of Winniza.

I checked their positions on the OKW situation maps and came up with their route for July / August 1941:

Sambor (01/07) - Lemberg (05/07) - Bibrka (10/07) - Buchach (15/07) Gorodok (18/07) - Dyakivtsi (20/07) - WINNIZA (21/07) - Olenivka (22/07) - Aleksandrivka (23/07) - LIPOVETS (26/07 until 22/08) - Skvira (23/08 until 31/08) .

The operational maps also show that the name of this unit changed on 22-23 August from slow. mot. Br. to slow. schnelle Div. !!! And they had ennemy contact and some losses during the battle of LIPOVETS....

So, either their new name was a kind of German "upgrade" either other units joined them in Skvira on 23/08/1941. If so, the other (possible) units increasing their strength to Divisional level are NOT shown during their (eventual) march through Ukraine.

Sources: original pic from my collection / "After the Battle picture: kindly taken by Mr Andrew Shvachko (Kiev) on Saturday 26 July 2014). As you can observe: the building and street crossing nearly stayed unchanged.

Panzerkampfwagen 35 (t) in the Panzerwaffe.

This tank was in use as MBT still in the early stages of Barbarossa; here goes some pictures of this type of tank testing a ramp mounted on the same kind of armored vehicle.

Source: in the pictures.

Any other info about whether this type of ramp was in use in action and where? Cheers. Raúl M 8-).
