► Photothread: Czechoslovakian soft skin transport vehicles 1930-1945
A couple of other members and I have discussed a thread for this subject and a fairly thorough search of the Forum does not seem to indicate a dedicated thread exists.
I will therefore start a thread and I invite all here to participate with their own images/stories etc.
I am using 1930 as a starting date as from what I have read, the Czech Govt. had rather limited financial resources in the years after WWI and many of their military vehicles soldiered on from the 1920's on into WWII and the PostWar years in some cases.
In the case of my contributions, I have been collecting materials on military softskins since the 1950's. With the coming of the Personal Computer in the mid 1990's, I scanned some of that into document files but most of my collection has been collected from various Internet sources since perhaps the late 1990's. As such, the documents have been transferred from computer to computer multiple times and I have also used various hosting services and remote hard drives to store images. Sadly, this resulted in many files getting corrupted in terms of the photo's description. What was once a caption that gave the marque, year, designation etc. turned into a series of letters and numbers.
So, I am now going back and starting all over again and building separate files for various categories of vehicle and saving them to Dropbox which seems to work well for me.
Sorry for the book. Here are the first few and I will try to add more each day.

Hi all!
With your permission I'll start with one of my favorites, and it is the big Tatra T29 of 1934 vintage. Different bodies were fitted on this chassis but exactly the Workshop truck is the reason I love it:
It was used also in the Wehrmacht, here in Russia:
Cheers!

Hi Bill,
thank You very much for starting this new and very interesting thread. And thanks a lot for posting and sharing these excellent pics of Czechoslovakian vehicles. I will try to post the one or other pic of such vehicles when I could find and ID them.
Best regards
Bert

Hi All:
This time, I will post two civilian versions of common Czech military type softskins. I do this because they are good clear photos and will help those who come across poorer quality photos from time to time and these will help them to identify their prizes.

This one represents something you run into from time to time.
This is a Praga A150 according to the source. But...it was possibly license produced by Skoda as well as a Skoda A150
and after the war was continued by the company Aero as the Aero A150. Also used by the Czech armed forces after the war in the Aero version.

And for the moment, a nice command car. The photos are said to be taken at the Skoda works as the vehicles were delivered.
The Skoda 952.

A few Walter PN models, quite a rare vehicle.

Hi Bill!
Your T29 is another interesting variant, a gun carrier, although upgraded with canvas cover by the Germans, perhaps.
Note the difference with the workshop in the rear wheels cutouts:
