Looking for information on unit ID for the 4 Marder III pictured. I assume they are all from the same abteilung and that the hearts and diamonds denote different companies and platoons. I have only found hearts and diamonds so far - does anyone have photographic evidence of spades or clubs being used in the same unit. Any help would be appreciated.
photos from various sources and are for discussion purposes only.
Thanks
Rich

Nuts and bolts book on the Marder III has unit allocations. If you can match the variant to the unit in the Ukraine during 43-44, you may be able to narrow it down to 2-3 possible units. Once that is done, you are halfway there and you can narrow your research further.

Here is another heart I think, but the photo is not clear.
There is an name under the hearts.

Re: Unit ID
Thanks Arthur. Everytime I go thru my Marder photos I find another one from this unit. Eating away at me. Sold all my reference material about 10 years ago and slowly building it up again.
