Came a cross this verry nice collor picture of a sdkfz 251 ,wile searching on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Main_Page .

The person who uploaded this picture stated :SdkFz 251 ausf D 11e Panzerdivizion "Gespenterdivizion" détruit vers Pierrefontaine (Doubs, France) fin 1944.

What are those "two big things" on the rear bumper of the car?

I dont know how is called in english, but this are tanks for "wooden" gas. In that time there was no gasoline, so they made gas from the wood or something like that.

On Page 22 there is a picture captioned Captured PzIV Kotzing Bavaria Fall 1945, behind which can be seen the end of a gun barrel and a half track.

Further down page 22 are two pictures of a Panther with a half track captioned knocked out Panther and giving the location/date as France 1944. These look like the same two vehicles in the background of the "Bavaria 1945" picture. The buildings are the same as is the appearance/style of the photo itself. Discuss...
