Hi Raul,

very interesting picture indeed. More english information about the Hilfezug Bayern here:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/McGraw_Kaserne#NSDAP_use

The Hilfszug was a part of the NSDAP, not military or Red Cross. I have some pictures with normal lorries and their crew on parade and a huge mobile field kitchen on a truck. Ususally the Hilfszug was used for catering services at mass events like the Reichsparteitag or Veterans Day. In 9.39 the Hilfzug was used to support ethnic Germans in the newly occupied parts of Poland.

Hi Raúl,

thanks for posting this interesting pic. This is an ambulance truck of the "Hilfszug Bayern", inside divided in a sterile operating room, a room for stretchers and a waiting room for up to six persons. In the trailer, here not to see, were 18 beds.

Regards

Bert

Hello Tigre,

I don't think so. As far as I can read the banner it says:

'Die Heimat den Beschützern im Osten.
XXXXXXX schickt Liebesgaben'

Which means someone is sending parcels with small presents (=Liebesgaben) to the soldiers in the East. 'Beschützern im Osten' could be translated as 'protectors in the east'.

Hi George,
For the record this nice little roadster is a Hansa 1700 Six Cabriolet.
Cheers,

Hi Bertram,

one question to your Fross Büssing. Do you know the reason for the RHD? I think the cab is WH-variant and Austria was/is a LHD country, or not ???

best regards
Henning
