Regarding the Stewarts, below is a 1935 model which fits pretty close.

I will try to track down the Romanian importer.

I know I am reaching here, but can this be another International C300?
Edit: I mean #3.

No 3 as I see it. At first I've thought this is a Fiat 626-based van but little later it came to me those whell hubs are too specific. So the winning chassis is Renault AGR.

1935 Stewart seems like a good match to me.

You've got it! I was thinking Fiat but it really is a Renault. The body looks fairly similar to this wood-gas one.

Thanks to Bill, who kindly helped me with this photo a couple of years ago, and others I have learnt that Stewarts were not too common in Europe. Perhaps this was one less, or maybe it was not beyond repair?
Kerry.

Thanks to ilian and luftflotte for setting me straight on the Renault identification.
I guess I spent too much time tracking down the International vehicle and got it stuck in my head.

Kerry, this 1937 Stewart looks close. Hard to tell since the louver styles appear to change based on rating.

I have to admit this is the first time ever I've seen Tempo-Vidal G1200 with civilian number plate! 8O

Hi ilian....

Nice photo for sure.

I will take a chance here and guess that the Tempo might have been one that was on trial with Czech forces 1938 or so.
The car to the left is a 1937/1938 Skoda Popular I believe and it has a registration plate at least similar to the Czech model of the time.

I also note that the tyres are almost worn out. A bit unusual.

Interesting, Bill and a great pic Ilian. I believe IE was Brandenburg Province, I assume the other may be IS which was Hanover at the time, unless I'm way off base which happens from time to time, especially now after a local fiesta with free beer.
Cheers,
Max

Hi Max,

to the Mercedes-Benz G 3 a: Why do You think it is a Kfz. 76? For me it is a telephone motor vehicle - (Kfz. 77). Typical for this vehicle are the mountings for rods and a ladder on the side of the superstructure. And behind the driver’s seat You can see the tubular frame over the driver’s compartment, where a cable drum could be mounted. And on the front mudguard there is also another device for mounting a cable drum.

Best regards

Bert
