Hi all,
I own a 1944 Schwimmwagen.
08.04.1944 produced at Wolfsburg, VW / KdF factory
12.04.1944 delivered to HZA Kassel. Unsure how long it would have taken to transport it to the front?
Sold in Paris 1951.
1st registration september 1945, in Calvados department, Normandy. I am currently trying to find out the place where it was first registered in 1945.
I am wondering which units it could have been part of if it has served in Normandy? It did have a lot of original colour (90% inside, 30% on outside) but no tactical markings found as paint was removed... Which units received Schwimmers at this time?
I would welcome your comments.

yes this should be an early Trippel SG6 Schwimmwagen,
I assume that the person in civil clothes is either an engineer from Trippel or even it's himself

thank You very much for the confirmation, that it is a Trippel SG 6. And You are right, the man in civil clothes in the vehicle is Hanns Trippel. I could find a pic of Trippel in the net.

the louver on the hood were only at the early prototypes as far as I know

I wish I knew if this pic was taken somewhere around Homburg/Saar or not (I'm from there)
it looks a little bit like a small pond

that´s really interesting, I could find another pic of this vehicle with the following text: "It was called the Land-Wasser-Zepp Versuchswagen 3. This was presented to Hitler in Dec. 1935 (oh, good, Hitler’s involved) and Trippel was signed up by the Wehrmacht to build amphibious vehicles." (source: https://seenthis.net/messages/486875).
