Hello friends,

can someone help me identify this French lorry? The driver's cab looks similar to the Citroen Type 45 U. But it has three axles and the front rims are different than the one on the Type 45 U. So it is really a Citroen and what type it is?

Regards, Holger.

Hi Holger,

I think like You. It could really be a Citroen type 45, but prolonged and with three axles; I think it´s a special type of fuel tanker with 9.500 or 12.000 litres. I couldn´t find any information about this special type.

Regards

Hi Guys:

Regarding Holger's latest, I agree, it is a Citroen T45. All of the normal ID tips are present.

Sadly, as I have said before, my French resources are badly lacking.
However, in the US, UK, Germany and several other European countries, there were several specialist suppliers that offered this type of third axle conversion to allow for heavier or longer loads than the standard 4X2 vehicles supplied from the manufacturers factories.

I think it would be safe to assume that there were similar suppliers on the French vehicle market that would offer such conversions.

You where saying only one was made.

Looking at te plate numbers 898959 and 1166708 ,there must be at least 2 vehicles who where converted
with a 251 body :D :D :D :D :D :D .

Sander

Hello the Community,

I think it's a rare Laffly W15T(gepanzert) from the Baukommando Becker.

Cheers,

Patrice.
