Kerry.
Hi Kerry,

And thanks for the Graham photo. I've always kinda liked the Sharknose's pseudo-streamlined front but IMO the removing of headlight covers really brings out the styling's Carlbarksy Scrooge McDuck car quality.

Kameraden strike a pose for the camera beside their Stoewer M 12 RW kübelwagen. Can anyone ID the Kfz. behind it?

Thank you, Oleg. That is very likely. The Stoewer M 12 RW kübelwagen was often used by the Nachrichtentruppe.

I do know how difficult the various 3-ton British trucks are to identify, so can someone help with this? I am pretty sure that the one on the left is a Thornycroft Tartar, it is the righthand one which has me stumped. I had thought that it could be a Leyland Retriever, but the radiator profile is wrong,I also think that both windscreens are German modifications. So any ideas please folks?
Thanks,
Kerry.

Regretably I can't help Kerry with his British truck but maybe someone can help me on this one presumably on the Channel Islands. Is it a Commer? If so which model?

Max,
This Commer of the N-series was used for refuelling a German fighter plane of the type Me 109. The photo was made on one of the British Channel Islands in the year 1940.

Kerry, after much puzzling I am inclined to think that your British pneumonia wagon is another Thornycroft Tartar of an early and different variant.

Hi Kerry

Both Tartars, the one on the right is missing its radiator grill. Seehttp://www.thornycroft.org.uk/Black%20W ... /Mil37.jpg http://www.thornycroft.org.uk/images/81_9373.jpg

for more see http://www.thornycroft.org.uk/Thornycro ... up%20E.htm

Thank you, Oleg.
Rechecking Holger's site I noticed that I had previously looked only at the first pic under N Series and didn't scroll down to see this exact same pic!

Hello Sturm,
Based on the wheels and fenders I would agree Magirus 206.
