Re: Vehicle identity requests
Whilst not a rare vehicle, I just wanted to ask about the markings and armament on this Bren carrier.
This photo appears in the book:
Frontkämpfer - hart wie Stahl: Das Waffen-SS Regiment Deutschland 1934-1945
Apparently this photo was taken in 1940 during the Low Countries campaign and depicts members of the Waffen-SS "Deutschland" Regiment in a captured Bren Carrier.
The front glacis plate has had a white Balkan cross painted on it, on the right fender, either a 'G' or '6' has been painted on. What would this signify?
Also, what kind of armament is this?
Thanks in advance for any information you can provide.

Re: Vehicle identity requests
The number could be "16" and beside it is the organizational symbol for a motorized infantry platoon.

Based on the arrangement of the cooling louvres in the hood/bonnet, the shape of the radiator guard and the type of wheels, I would agree with you that your personnel transport truck is a Benz L4500 S version.
Bill
I think sturms pic is a MB L4500 A
Look at the man without a cap, between his legs. Oh no! a little bit deeper you see 2 screws with a short distance.

Hi Tristan:
I am fairly sure the weapon on your Bren Carrier is a BOYS AT rifle.

Hi Henning,fireindi64 wrote:Hello,good morning
Can anybody help me identify that trailer?
Is it a real maintance trailer or a engineer trailer, for example for "Sturmboote"???
best regards
Henning
Re: your trailer question from 24.10. saw an eBay.de photo showing a trailer very similar to yours with a captured French plane aboard. Since the eBay photo was shot in France and your trailer had rather French wheels I suspect it was originally Armée de l'Air equipment.

Markus

Re: Vehicle identity requests
Hello all,
Is the vehicle towing the artillery piece a Chatillon-Panhard? Is the towing structure integral to the vehicle model, or is it added?
thanks,
John

Re: Vehicle identity requests
Hi George:
Your Propaganda vehicle is a Ford. I have seen several photos of Ford BB busses with this type of grille over the years.
Also see the main headlamps which seem to come from the 1937 Passenger Car.

Image 2: DB, BN or Magirus?
