Hello Bill, linedoggie, Clive,

I stand duly corrected. Where is the small tire you speak of, Bill? I still don't see it. This example of a British plate from http://www.autogallery.org.ru/m/nomerc.htm sort of led me in the wrong direction. Re-reading it I now see that was only prior to '31 (I think-It's translated from Russian):
1931-1963: three letters from the ASV to YSV and up to three digits before 1931: two letters and up to four digits of the number previously unused (it looks like a series of SV).

Hi Max:

The tyre/tire I am speaking of is leaning against the middle/second axle of the truck.

I also forgot to mention that the wheel design is exactly the same as used on the Laffly range of trucks.

Bill

PS: Do you have any recent photos of the Cavite area? My Grandfather was a US Navy Officer from the early 1900's and served in the
Phillippines several times up until the 1930's. I will try to find some of his photos of those times for you.

Hi Bill, OK. I see what could be two small tires wrapped in a canvas bag, is that it or am I just dense?

I'm not nitpicking, but I learned from you to pay attention to detail.

I'll PM you later re: the Philippines, I'm very interested.

Have a good one back there in the Peach State.

Max

Max, if you look at the registration plate on the Laffly the lettering is in a typically French style and quite different from British plates.

Bill, that doesn't look like a tyre leaning against the second axle, it appears to be the wrong shape - it looks more like a canvas cover on a frame.

Hi,

here a pic of truck (or better a semit-trailer tractor) I cannot ID. I think it is a captured one from Belgium or the Netherlands, maybe produced in the States. I´m sure one of You can help me. Thanks in advance. (source of the pic: an expired ebay auction).

Regards

Bert

Hi Raul,
Could it be a mid 1930's Polski Fiat 621 L?

P.S. Maybe someone can help me with the license plate on this truck.I understand the Ost indicates the Generalgovernment of occupied Poland but what is the Ob preceding that?

Hello Max :D; and thanks for your quick reply...it could be, although the shape of the hood is a bit different (at least) for me. Cheers. Raúl M 8-).

Hi Raul,
You're right about that. Here's one from Holger's site that looks a little closer (I think):

Hello all,
Whilst clearly already ancient, this truck was still performing in the Occupied Eastern Territories. Please can someone identify it? I have included a close-up of the radiator surround, which seems to have the letters SA on it.
Many thanks,
Kerry.
