Hi Sturm 78,
in the booklet "Waffen-Arsenal" Band 58: "VW im Kriege" by Michael Sawodny are also the two pics You posted.
Sawodny writes, that the vehicle on the two pics is still a mistery. In the captions of the archives it is called "aus dem Typ 87 mit Vierradantrieb weiterentwickelter Kradwagen Typ 166 für die SS in verkürzter und geschmeidiger Form"; other called the vehicle also "ferngesteuerter Ladungsträger".
That´s all I could find.
Regards
Bert

I'd say Klöckner-Deutz A 3000. Can't see the front differential but the body is riding so high the lorry looks like the 4x4 version.

Hi Alex (Photo-War)
I think it's a Klockner-Deutz A 3000 or S 3000

Re: Vehicle identity requests
Hi Sturm:
In Bart Vanderveen's book "The Observer's Army Vehicle Directory to 1940", he shows the same photo, the only one I have ever seen of this vehicle.
He describes it as a "Car 4 Seater 4X4 Radio, Z-T2", from 1938.
While he does not caption the car as such with the photo, he lists the vehicle in the Tatra section of the general description page for "Cars". It had an air cooled 2 litre 2 stoke engine.
There was apparently also a "Z" vehicle made in 1936. Both the "Z" and "Z-T2" were prototypes and no production was taken up.
I hope that helps.
Bill
