Bert,
The way in which the headlights are just "glued"" onto the front makes me think Belgian, FN perhaps?

Fliegerhorst, No what I mean is that just because an SdKfz 251 has a frame antenna fitted it doesn't mean that it is a "/6" it could just as easily be a "/3" , since the difference between the two was the type of radios fitted and whether or not an Enigma machine was carried then without being able to see the interior it is impossible to tell a "/3" from a "/6".

Hi Bert:

Well, my first full day with my new computer glasses!

Regarding your last request photo, I think you were on the proper track with an International Harvester D 300.

In this case, probably supplied as a chassis and cowl with no windscreen or cabin which were mounted in Europe, probably The Netherlands or Belgium. This would account for the small detail differences with the US version and even between European bodied versions.

I have posted a photo below of a 1937 D 300 from The Netherlands that looks very similar to your photo.

Goodness, Max, did you have too much Bonuz Special tonight?

Seems to be a generic 1939 Chevrolet.

You're right, Bill  . I overlooked the obvious and got fixated on the front wings. Slight resemblence though. Can't blame the beer, it was morning over here!

I believe this to be an Einheitsdiesel butchery truck. My question, other than confirmation of my often flawed identification, is whether there was a type designation for this vehicle, or if it was a modification?
Many thanks,
kerry.

Hi Max!
Your geländegängige PKW looks Stoewer 40 to me.

Now my pictorial question. Here is a picture of GAZ-415 pickup and something I can't recognize:

Image

Any idea what this car could be?

Image

Apparently both are in Soviet use, judging from the number plates. The mystery one is not necessary of Soviet origin.
TIA
Cheers!

This one might be interesting, ilfil.

I already have one hour invested in trying to id this car and have gotten nowhere. Dinner time for me and then bed but I hope to continue and in the meantime I hope someone else can solve the puzzle.

Thanks for the quick response! The car really is what you said: a Polski Fiat 508 series III. Thanks again!
