Vehicle identity requests
Re: Vehicle identity requests
I thought, at first, that the arm insignia was a chevron, but I now think that the man may be a TN nco serving within a Luftwaffe unit. As such he would wear LW uniform with the addition of a TN arm eagle. The jacket is certainly a fliegerbluse, so this could fit.

I think also NSKK on Luftwaffe attachment did the same.kerryboo wrote:I thought, at first, that the arm insignia was a chevron, but I now think that the man may be a TN nco serving within a Luftwaffe unit. Re: Vehicle identity requests
The rescuing Bedford MWD number plate is barely recognizable but I think it starts with "WL".
But what to do with the Blitz van? Letters "MH" - unknown. Marking "Sp. So." - also unknown (because it really is "So.", not "Sp." ).
Is it possible the pic is doctored?

Re: Vehicle identity requests
My, what a busy last couple of days here on the vehicles threads and also at home with perfect Spring weather which means my wife is after me with a vengeance
Regarding the Kerry motor question...
I respectfully suggest the vehicle is a Tatra T92.
I base this on the two photos below, showing a T92 and a T93 where you can clearly see that the T92 has a slightly deeper set of louvers in the side of the engine hood and have more openings than the T93.
Many thanks to Ilian for finding a good photo of the T92/93 motor, something I failed to find and which I was going to use as a reason for selecting a Tatra vehicle also.

Re: Vehicle identity requests
I am just trying to keep up here.........
Regarding Kerry's Opel, I found an obscure reference to the "MH" registration plate.
This was used by German Forces in Holland 1940-1945 and I present such a plate on a motor bike.
I found no German registration series with these letters, nor Dutch nor Belgian so I think this may be correct.
Still does not solve the question but maybe somebody can put more pieces together.

Re: Vehicle identity requests
As Bill suggests, according to http://www.autogallery.org.ru/m/nomde.htm MH was used from '41-'45 in occupied Holland by "Wehrmachtsbefehlhaber in den Niederlanden"
Cheers,

Re: Vehicle identity requests
The photograph is a bit difficult to see much detail but for the moment, I am thinking a Ford V8 51 with a civilian drivers cabin.
Please see the photo below. Wheels seem to match, attachment of the main headlamps match, bumper matches and I believe the louvers in the side of the engine hood are the same. We cannot see the grille, so I don't know which year it might be.
