Re: Vehicle identity requests
Hello all,
As recently said by others, it is hard to remember exactly what you have seen and when, but there is something about this which feels familiar. Does anybody either remember what and when, or otherwise recognise what this is?
Thanks,
Kerry.

Re: Vehicle identity requests
Hi Kerry. I don't recall seeing it before but it appears to be a 1940 Dodge missing its nose.

Hi Max,
That is great, thank you. I will continue to wrack my brain about where I might have seen it, but your answer has put another caption in the archive.
Best regards,
Kerry.

Re: Vehicle identity requests
Hi Kerry,
I wonder again: how those people on the old pictures know exactly where to stay to obscure the most important recognition points?
I think Max is right and this is custom-cabbed Dodge VF32 with deleted nose. But a pic without that crowd in front of the truck might have been better for ID, I mean the typical Dodge/Fargo front fender stamped ribs.
An interesting detail is the towing eye on the front bumper which definitely isn't original.
Cheers!

Uncle, good work. I don't buy the comparison with the usual Albion cab - the mud wings are similar, but not the same, and the cab shape is very different. I don't buy the similarity in road wheel design either, as many companies were making road wheels for multiple vehicle manufacturers.uncle wrote:Hi Friends.

The radiator shape is classic Albion, though, and the front axle position is a lot closer to a small Albion than an ERF or similar.
I do like this comparison though:
They're still not the same, and the cab window shape is still different, but they're an example of an Albion with many of the same features, perhaps from the same coachbuilder.
On that basis I'd say Albion, as sure as the sunrise - but with a different coach builder's cab, and being stubborn, I'm still going to stick with a Jennings cab!

Hi Sean N.
Albion - this is one of the versions.
Sadly ERF lorry very few photos to compare.
Thanks.

Re: Vehicle identity requests
No wonder the pics of 2C14 are rare, bearing in mind only 423 of them were delivered to the British army.
On the other hand, those few pictures known are more than enough to prove the mystery vehicle definitely isn't ERF. In that matter, it isn't Foden too, to stay within the family business.
Cheers!
