Re: Vehicle identity requests
Thanks Kerry
Yes i took a lot of pictures from the end of the seventies
even on our honeymoon we took the time to search for old wrecks
My wife was even fond of cars as i and she had her own oldtimer car at that time
and i searched al these years up till know and yes i ll search even on the WWW to find such items
We used these pictures for restaurations of old timers and looking for parts
I recently digitalised my archive of cars and trucks
I m glad you like them

Apparently Büssing-NAG Burglöwe of early 30s, most probably typ 25 or 30.
Thanks a lot to both....Max wrote

Re: Vehicle identity requests
Hi Sturm:
This type of truck and it's era are not really in my area of research, but it does at least resemble a Ceirano 47C used in East Africa a little bit before WWII.
Not this particular type of Ceirano, but close maybe.

Re: Vehicle identity requests
Hi Sturm,
Bill is right, it is Ceirano 47CM. Some special bodies on this chassis were used by Regia Aeronautica, it was available with different wheel bases and with solid tyres too. I guess the vehicle on your picture is a fire truck with tilt (has something like hose reel behind the rear fender). I have no idea why the tilt is there bit it might have dual purpose: to disguise the vehicle like GS truck and to protect the crew from elements and dust. Again: this is my guess only.
HTH
Cheers!

Re: Vehicle identity requests
Hi Uncle,
Looks French to me, some Bernard of the mid 30s DC series perhaps?
Now my question on this beauty:
No ID needed, it is MAN, most probably on E3000 chassis:
What I'm interested to know is its nationality, though. Judging from the company name above the windshield I think it is Slovenian or Slovakian:
Can somebody help with the uniforms and/or number plate ID?
TIA!

Re: Vehicle identity requests
Hi Sturm,
Ford BB, most probably domestic coachbuilder's body on chassis of domestic assembly.
The same body was available also on newer chassis, such like this 1938 or 39 model :

Re: Vehicle identity requests
Hi Doggy,
Thanks for that, I didn't spot in time that 'Браћа' and, of course, I didn't get the company name is in Cyrillic and in Alphabet. Shame on me!
So now the hard question without answer, perhaps, is were the brothers Croatian or Serbian? I guess the number plates back then were the same all around Yugoslavia?
Thanks again anyway!

Re: Vehicle identity requests
Hi ilfil,
excuse me, please. I know You don´t need the ID of the bus. It is a MAN. That´s clear. But I think it is not the type E 3000, but the type Z 2. On Holger´s site is a pic of this type of bus.

Bert

Re: Vehicle identity requests
Hi Bert,
What is the difference in those chassis indeed? I agree, my mistake was I said it is military chassis E 3000 instead of civilian E 2 which is basically the same. AFAIK the difference between E 2 and Z 2 chassis is in the engine only.
Thanks for that correction anyway.
Cheers!

Re: Vehicle identity requests
Hi ilfil,
thanks for Your reply. For me it is no mistake, that You said it is a E 3000 (military type) or E 2 (civilian). For me there is a difference between E 2 / E 3000 and Z 2 not only in the engines, but also in the sides of the motor hood. Have a look on the grips for opening the motor hood! And there are two additional vertical slits down before the wings and three additional vertical slits behind the wings. I hope You understand what I mean. Here two pics of MAN busses type Z 2 of the Deutsche Reichspost.

Bert

I think I got it. You mean this:
Right?
About the ambulance body, I know it is of German origin but I didn't know the coachbuilder, thanks for that too. It was written somewhere that the Hungarians made their own bodies upon German specifications, that's why I guessed both the chassis and body are domestic affair. But now I'm not sure did the Hungarians assemble BB chassis at all?
Cheers!
