Hungarian tanks?
Thanks Milan,
I have one more question: do you know the paint scheme of the 1. Panzer Division's PzKpfw 38(t) during the summer and fall of 1942 in Russia? Most English sources say it's tri-color camouflage. But from the balck and white pictures I've seen it appears to be solid to me. Do you have any information or good pictures? Does the book A Magyar Királyi Honvédség fegyverzete have any color plates for this tank?
Thank you very much and have a nice weekend!
Best Regards!

I don't find colour photos for T-38, only this graphic.
Pz 38t from the 1st Field Armoured Division. The stencilled turret number is permanent but is not conforming to the regulation. Possibly this was the command tank of the 6th Heavy Company.
The insignia on the Pz IV F1 and Pz 38t was the national colours at Don river 1942-43.

Hi Milan,
About the regulation numbering during the 1942 Russian campaign, my understanding is that the turret umber is in 3 digit. The first digit is the company number, the second is the platoon number and the third is the individual vehicle number. So tank number 222 should be the second tank of the second platoon of the second company of the 30/I battalion. The company commander's tank would have the middle number in "0".
So tank 604 could well be the commanding tank of the 6. company of the 30/II battalion. The 6th company was a heavy tank company equipped with PzKpfw IV F1 and F2, but the commanding tanks might be T-38 or toldi.
Am I right about the above?
Also, is there any correlation between the turret number and the plate number appeared in the small white plates in the front and rear of the tank?
Thank you very much!

Hi Milan,
As you've probably already known, I am currently in the process of modeling the 1. field armored division on the Don front. The first step is to build two PzKpfw 38(t), then I'll proceed to build at least one PzKpfw IV F1 and one Toldi.
Since I would like to make my models as accurate as possible, and in the process to learn more about the division's organization, equipment and performance, I have kept bugging you on this subject. This is because you and David C. Clark are the only people who had so far provided me with any important information, and you have proven youself as the most knowledgeable person on this subject in this forum.
So if it is not too inconvenient to you, can you also please post the front, rear and right side views of PzKpfw 38(t) if they are in this wonderful Promodell magazine. They are very useful in my modeling project!
Thank you very much and My Best Regards!

Hi Milan,
Do you have any information about whether the Toldis in service with the 1. tábori páncélos hadosztály in Don bend in 1942-43 had turret numbers painted on them? I know all German delivered panzers had those turret numbers, but would like to know if Toldis of the Division also had them.
Also do you happen to have any photos of Toldis, Csabas or Nimróds of the 1. tábori páncélos hadosztály in Don bend during this period?
Thank you very much and have a nice weekend!
Best Regards!
