That is a 8cm R-Vielfachtwerfer auf m gep Zgkw S305(f). These 8cm rockets were copied from the Kaytusha later on in the war and were used almost exclusively by the Waffen SS.
From Encyclopedia of German Tanks of WWII:
From Encyclopedia of German Tanks of WWII:
At Rouen in May 1944, versions with the 8cm R-Vielfachwerfer (multiple rocket launcher) and Reihenwerfer (tiered launcher) were demonstrated. The R-Vielfachwerfer was the launcher for the 24 fin-stabilized rockets adopted by the Waffen SS. The Rheinwerfer on the S202 was fitted with 20 rockets.

Hi All
The 2 fotos are taken on 30-05-1944 in Riva Bella (Normandy)
the halftracks are from the 21 Panzerdivision .
It was a testfirering from a 8 cm Reihenwerfer (mortars) and the
Salvengeschutz (rockets) from the 21 Panzerdivision
and 15cm and 21cm Neberwerfer from the Werferbrigade 7.
The testfirering was visited by Gen Feldm. Rommel and nearly
all the generals in the West.
Regards Jos

Hi All
The Mitteler Schützpanzerwagen S 307(f) had 20 barrels for
mortars , please see the picture from the 21 Panzerdivision
and on the other picture you can see mortars exploding on the
water .
If this was a infanterieadvance you would not be glad to be there
with 20 exploding mortarsgrenades.

Hello Trommelfeuer
I know the data from "Achtung Panzer" and ""Lexikon der
Wehrmacht" but there were only 8 Reihenwerfer in the 21
Panzerdivision 4 for the 10/192 and 4 for the 10/125 so
why did they use 2 different vehicles ?
Also the 4th picture is heavy retouch .
I also see that even the "Experts" have it very difficult
with the naming of the French halftracks with the right
German code names.
Maybe you got more German info and you want to share
it with us .
