Hi stoveb!

A little correction - first 5 pics are from the 7. Panzerdivision (7th pic = 14 P.D.).

Hi, nice picture,

According to David Doyle's Standard Catalogue of German Military Vehicles, pg 387, this is a

Panzerspähwagen RK Ausf. A

"The Panzerspähwagen RK was developed by Saurer-Werke in response to a May 1938 request from the German Army automotive design office. Intended for use as an armoured reconnaissance vehicle, it had armor protection proof against 7.92mm armor-piercing rounds and turret designed by Daimler-Benz. Instaled in the turret was an EW 141 7.92mm antitank rifle and a 7.92mm MG34.

A test vehicle constructed of mild steel was delivered in June 1940, which was joined by a second machine that following August. It was anticipated that a trial series of 15 vehicles would begin production in May 1942, but it was doubtful that this occured."

Cheers
Steve

Many thanks for the info!

Sander D has posted the link to the ostpanzer forum - I couldn't stop browsing through it yesterday, so many great (and to me unknown) photos there!

Exists scheme or drawing of the mechanism of the transition with caterpillars on travell about Saurer RR-7 (SdKfz 254)? Want to do the model of this machine greatly exactly, but on photography the most interesting mechanisms locked wheel. Thank you.
