Hi Sturm

It is a MkII. Mk1 was rear wheel drive only. MkIII was shorter and had a angular turret made from flat plates.

What is strange is it appears to be in a dark colour (field grey?) therefore not North Africa. Did the British forces use Marmon-Herrington's in Europe? It also looks like it has German frame type radio aerial.

Hi Clive:

A very quick search turned up this photo. A MKII used by New Zealand forces in Greece and then captured by the Germans.
If not the complete answer to the photo in question, at least we know they were used in Southern Europe.

Thank you, Bill. :)

How is possible to differenciate a Mk.I from a Mk.II ??

Hi Bill

Thanks for that. I did consider if they had been used in Greece and/or Crete.

Hi,

here a pic of a captured Fargo truck. But I cannot tell the exact type (source of the truck: an expired ebay auction).

Regards

Probably I'm not quite right but to me this is 15-cwt Morris CS8, if judging from the wheels size and the body.

I am with Ilfil on this one, larger wheels, larger body, shorter driver's cab and slightly different mudguards.

Think I'd vote for CS8 as well.

Thanks ifil, Bill and Sean. A CS8 it is then (Actually I thought it looked like the smaller of the two). Come on over to our "new" Axis Non-Armored Vehicles Quiz so I can take advantage of all your knowledge even further. :)

Thanks, chalky.
I found this photo which is captioned Morris PU 8cwt GS (New Zealand Forces). The vehicle behind it in line has a different body style and larger wheels which I assume is a CS8 as was my original post. If so the difference is quite clear to me now.

Hello Bert,
I don't know the Type designation but the grille looks like either a 1939 or 1940:
