Re: Vehicles with unit markings
Black K on white back ground - Pz. Div. Clausewitz oder Res. Pz. Div. 233 oder??
The following pics of 251's are all from the same period in 1945 just after the war. They are from the danish westcoast where they participated in the mine clearing as a part of peace treaty with the wehrmacht.
The vehicles seems to be from the same unit.
As the units came from a pioneer school and other pioneer units in Denmark and Schlewig/Holstein the 251's could come from either Res.Pz.Div.233, Pz.Div.Clausewitz or ?
Markings of interest is the "K" on white back ground and the number 33 - could it be Pioner- und Brücken Kolonne (Pz. 233). Also a large C in white is interesting - I have never seen the unit mark of Pz.Clausewitz but could the C mean Clausewitz.
I might be really far of - and maybe some of you know more about the vehicles?
Cheers
Jens

Re: Vehicles with unit markings
It is actually an Estonian coat of arms.
The picture was taken on the 11th of May 1945 and the car was being used by battalion commander captain Julius Made.
Two of the men on the picture are wearing pre-war Estonian uniforms.

Hearty Welcome Eesti Man!!
I, and I am sure other members are happy to see someone from Estonia in this part of the Forum.
Hopefully, you have and can post some photos of vehicles used in Estonia whether by Estonian Forces, the Germans or the Russians. Not much is available on your country when it comes to vehicles. I do have bookmarked some Estonian Vehicle History sites but I cannot understand the language so it is sometimes difficult to get the proper information.
Glad to have you with us.
Bill
Edit: Here is a link to one of the sites.

Re: Vehicles with unit markings
Outstanding photos fliegerfaust.......
Do you happen to have any more information on the vehicle described as Steyrey7?
My personal interest is in soft skin (transport and personnel wheeled vehicles) and I cannot identify this one, have never seen it before. The large, low pressure tyres are quite different and interesting. I thought at first it might be a Steyr, but all photos I have of their vehicles have the steering wheel on the right which I do not see here.

Re: Vehicles with unit markings
Thank you for such a warm welcome, Bill!
During the last years of the war Estonian units in German army marked their vehicles with "E" and a hand with sword sign, which became a symbol of Estonian warriors during the Estonian war of freedom(1918-1920).
Here´s an image of it on Steyr RSO:

Also, if you´r interested, you should visit a topic in http://www.wehrmacht.pri.ee forum, which contains images of machinery taken on the soil of Estonia during the WW2. Here´s a link to the exact topic:
