Vehicles with unit markings

Discussions on the vehicles used by the Axis forces.
Long-time forum member Ron Klages (1939 - 2007) generously shared his knowledge and the results of his impressive research with the forum, and this section has therefore been renamed in his honour.

According to Bruce Quarrie and Mike Chappell's book, comet was an emblem of the I/5. FJR and later and emblem of the 4. Fallschirmjägerdivision.

Claimed as the 16th Infantry Division. But isn't their symbol the greyhound? http://www.wwiidaybyday.com/

So when did they adopt the "greyhound"? When it turned into the 116th Pz.Div.?

I believe they started to use the greyhound when they reformed as 16.Pz.Gren.Div. in May/June 1943, then continued to use the emblem when 16.Pz.Gren.Div. was combined with 179.Pz.Div. (reserve) in France in March 1944 and formed 116.Pz.Div.

I pieced this together from these three pages on Feldgrau:
http://www.feldgrau.com/InfDivMot.php?ID=6
http://www.feldgrau.com/PzGrenDiv.php?ID=4
http://www.feldgrau.com/PzDiv.php?ID=28

Of course no place does it mention when they change the unit emblem, this is just a logical guess based on the information I could find.
