Hello.
A pic of a 250/1 used by US troops nera St-Vith during the Battle of the Bulge.
From MK Edition 'Sd.Kfz 250'.

Hello guys,

Has anyone a phot of Steyr 1500 in Allies service?
I have built 1:35 model of this car, and I have heard that there were some of them captured by Americans.
Can anyone help me with this? If it is true I want to paint this model with American signs.

Best regards
Michal

Hi Francy,

nice pic of a Me-262 indeed - albeit it's not a captured German aircraft! Just the design of the bird is "captured" by the US manufacturer! In fact, it is one of the replicas built in the US recently, look at the modern-day taxiway signs on the left hand side of the picture. Also the "USAF-style" pilot's name stencil beneath the cockpit. Moreover, the modern turbines are lacking the prominent Riedel-Anlasser protuding out of the engine nacelles on the "real thing".

The markings seem to be a bit fictional overall, I'm not aware JG-7 had any two-seaters, at least not with Adjutanten-Winkel (or is it Kommodore? hard to tell with the wing in front of it).

Anyway, good to see the Sturmvogel/Schwalbe taking to the air again!

Best Regards
Matthias

The bull is the insignia of the British 11th Armoured Division. Also note the British uniforms.

US Army armored divisions all had the same symbol: a triangle with yellow, red, and blue fields, on which was superimposed a tank track, a cannon, and a lightning flash. The division insignia were distinguished only by the divisional number in the top, yellow field.

Cheers
