I'm looking for information bout the Aufklärungspanzer 38(t) !
Espetially about their combat reputation.
Where did they fought?
Which certain units did get these AFVs?
Technical and development information would be also welcomed!

Thanks!

The small run of 70 units was allocated as follows;

2./PzAufkl. GD/PzGr-Div. Grossdeutschland was issued 25 in April 1944
1./PzAufkl. 3/3.Pz-Div. was issued 25 in September 1944

Seven were sent to each of the above units as replacements and one was issued to Ersatz-Brigade GD. That accounts for a total of 65 machines. Jentz, in Panzer Tracts 11-2, does not account for the other 5.

Hope this helps,
Mike

Pz.Aufkl.Abt.233/233.Pz.Div. reported on 1945-04-20 that they had a vehicle which is a Pz.Kpfw.38(t) chassis with a 7,5 cm L/24 gun, however which exact vehicle it is is impossible to tell.

Perhaps the single Volkettenaufklärer 38 built on a Bergewagen 38 chassis? There’s a pic of it in Panzer Tracts 11-2.

I know, but we can't tell which one it is, unless someone has a photograph is shipping report.
