Town Plans and WGO-Files in Belarus

Postby Tomasino on 01 Jul 2012 14:47

Dear Friends,
I'm trying to locate the grave of my grandfather in Belarus, near Minsk.
Recently, I was told that there could be some help in the US:
German Forces of the Wehrmacht used to prepare maps of towns with graveyards nearby. Also, the Luftwaffe made aerial pictures. Finally, the so called Wehrmachts-Gräberoffizier ( an officer dedicated to file all graves) files are supposed to be located in archives in the US. Has anyone ever seen files like that?
Help would be grteatly appreciated.
Regards,
Thomas

T78 R880 and R881 contain some sort of information on graveyards. See the master T78 index on www.sturmpanzer.com and see if 880 and 881 are what you need.
