Within the next month or two the list will be updated. The new list will include references to free material from elsewhere and maybe some of the cheaper material available.

The majority of the work will happen behind the scene. Reorganizing the catalog structure and replacing all the links in the hope of eliminating some of the problems people are having.

If there is any new material, it will only be a small number of rolls. I do plan on making one big post of new material later this year. The work being performed now is to help avoid posting material that is already available.

The material posted is only a fraction of the material available. If you are researching a project please feel free to contact me if you are looking for material not on the Free List. Tell me what you are researching, what material you need and a regular email address so material (if any) can be sent to you.

Lastely, if you see the update taking form in the Test Section of these forums, please don't post there. If you do then I can not edit the post anymore.

There is at least one other free archive of NARA material, WWII Aerial Photos and Maps. There are not direct links to his site as per his wishes. Lots of other interesting material there, Ost Lage Maps among others, and a site worth supporting. These rolls are marks (WWII APM). Some of these rolls appear to be incomplete.

Another thing, although a lot (all just now) of the rolls are free, you might think about supporting the sites that make this material available. So please if possible make a donation to Axis History Forums and WWII Aerial Photos and Maps and thank them for making the free material available.

Isn't A3343 the German Service records? I don't have any of them and don't even know if they were filmed. Perhaps someone else can supply more information.

A-3343 is RuSHA records (Rasse-und-Siedlungs-Hauptamt) which includes among other things, SS-Officer personnel files.

They are made on the basis of the disk Moore "Fuehrerlisre..."

The Dirlewanger files only have the documents till early 1944. Any idea where I can find the files till the end of the war?

additon/background: I am searching for a proof of Hahn, Hermann served in the Dirlewanger unit from about Oct. 1944 till Mai 1945. Before he was in the concentration camp Flossenbürg and got transfered for rehabilitation to Dirlewanger, but I am not sure, if he ever actual served there.

The plan is to redo all the links, if that doesn't help then sharing from my Sky Drive wasn't a good idea.

It may take a while to fix the links because there is a whole lot of new material add.

There is a lot of reasons for the free material. One of the reasons was to save time, sending rolls to others.
