Hi:

I published the following rolls today.

T-78 R-619 Gen.Insp.d.Pz.Truppen
T-175 R-70 Pers.St.RFSS
T-312 R-1203 AOK 2
T-501 R-89 Korueck 559,590 u. 593

On next Tuesday I am scheduled for an upgrade to my Internet connection. It will be upgraded from 60 Mb to 100 Mb. It should help in reducing the download time.

Regards,

John

This is a technical question I hope somebody can help me with.

I am using FileZilla and from the beginning, after selecting the directories to copy, I had to "Disconnects from the currently visible server" for the transfer to begin. After that, the files would transfer without issue (if I did not do this, the files would just time out rather than transfer). Beginning a few days ago, even using this method, files began to time out and I am no longer able to download at all.

I figure this is "operator error" and I just have to do it the right way, so I was hoping somebody using the same software could help me out or recommend a different (better?) software.

Thanks,

Hi Hselassi,

If you're having issues with FileZilla, try WinSCP, it's a free FTP software which is a bit easier to setup and use.

Hi:

I have increased the data transfer by increasing my Internet connection from 60 Mb to 100 Mb. Between this and adding QOS (Quality of Service) the data transfer rate should be improved by about 60%. The individual data transfer rate still depends on the number of people logged on to the server. The cost is not trivial but it really needed to be done. I hope this helps.

John

Hi:

I am beginning a project to compress the files for each roll into one RAR file. This will reduce the time to transfer a roll by reducing the overhead in transferring a large number of small files. Since this will include over 1,700 rolls it will take some time to complete the project. After the project is completed you will no longer be able to view individual files from a roll. If someone would like to donate a 5TB hard drive I will be happy to keep two versions of each roll. :)

Regards,

John

Why don't you make a donation plea? If I remember correctly the one you made for the Lage Ost 1943 maps was successful. Bundle the drive with the money needed to film the Lage Ost 1944 maps (if they exist) and you got project that deserves support.

You're banned for 24h. Stop using Filezilla as its default setup triggers a ban (multiple connections!)

If John gets sick with you, your IP gets banned for 1-2 months.

The easiest way to handle that is to keep changing IP. Some ISP propose such service.

I would reccommend this product for your storage needs. Hopefully it is applicable to your setup.

Thanks for the upgrade.
Something solved my client issues I previous had on my computer so now it works lika a charm.

I think crowdfunding would be a good Idea.

Kind Regards

Hi:

Unfortunately, the difference in transfer time was not significant. :( I have purchased a new Internet connection (increased from 60 Mb to 100 Mb) and that does help.

John
