I think it was to avoid a desk-job? His competitor, Mölders reached - was it 100(?) and had to fly a desk after that?,Varjag

Close enough for government work. Yes, Mölders was forbidden to fly combat ops after his 100th. kill and Galland wanted to avoid that. Which in fact he did.

Your turn.

Thanks Michael. We'll try a Luftwaffe 'face' that is probably less known than his name.....who is he?, Varjag

Sorry no, vanir. He is not a fighter ace at all, his speciality was in photography  , Varjag

Nice try Michael - but his lenses were almost certainly a bit bigger than those in Leica's  , Varjag

This is none other than Oberstleutnant und Kommandeur Theodor Rowehl,
the father of modern German aerial/photo reconnaissance.
Head of Geschwader/Kommando Rowehl (later part of KG200).
Received the RK on 27. September 1940. Later promoted to Oberst.

That's The Man! I thought he 'needed a face', rather than just a name and a Kommando/Gruppe etc. on the forum.
Over to Waleed, Varjag

Thanks!

Rowehk most definitely deserves mentioning... and a face! :)

This old lady was flying for a sort of exotic Luftwaffe unit, what was the designation of this unit and what was it's alleged use in the rear area of Army Group South.

This old lady was a Dornier Do 23, belonged at the start of the war to the "Fliegerforstschutzverband", which later became Erprobungskommando 40, disbanded in 1944. On the Eastern Front it was mainly used as a pest control unit.
