Reason: Right spelling: Ju 87 - not ju87

The engine has already been recovered from the sea and the pilots pocket knife was found. There are no bullet holes in the wing and the fuselage so probably the bomber ran out of fuel. The MG 81Z rear machine guns are missing for unknown reasons. The wreck is going to be fully recovered this weekend, it seems to be in a bad condition though.

The European members might be interested in knowing that this wreck recovery has received heavy coverage in U.S. media - TV, newspapers, on-line news, etc. So many, many more over here are aware of it than would normally be the case. Perhaps the interest in this one is because it will become only the third restored Ju 87 in existence. Rarity makes good headlines.

I doubt whether the wreck will be fully restored to a good condition likes the ones in Chicago and Hendon. In the meantime human remains were found, divers brought a thigh bone to the surface.

The plane seems to be a Ju 88.

English article:

Second World War aircraft wreck not 'Stuka', but larger Ju 88. Human remains also found.

There is also information in German and English : http://www.luftwaffenmuseum.de from the Luftwaffenmuseum in Berlin Gatow!
And of course from aircraft magazines like "www.flugzeug-classic.de" ...
Think that plane was to be transferred as there were no bombs etc.
