Koppeloffizier

At Aalborg Forsvars og Garnisonsmuseum (Aalborg Defence and Garrisonmuseum) we are restoring the commandbunker (Gefechtsstand) from Seefliegerhorst Aalborg - Aalborg See that was on the site during the war. We have got the original drawings and the idea is to restore the whole building and 3-5 rooms to near original state. The rest of the rooms will be used to tell the story of the 3 german airfields in Aalborg 1940-45.
Just now i am trying to make some info-boards about the use of the bunker and there is a few problems. The two rooms at eather side of the radioroom is on the drawings called "Koppeloffizier I" and "Koppeloffizier II". Does anybody know what exactly an Koppeloffizier did and how he did it?

Koppeloffizier: an officer of the aircraft safety service (Luftnachrichten Flugsicherungsdienst) who plotted information from radio transmissions from airborne aircraft and then passed this information to the operations controller.

Thank you.
But why two and why place them in a bunker without any operational control?

I don't know. You might go to this web site and look around as it is all about Luftnachrichtentruppe, radar sites and command bunkers. You could also contact the site's Danish webmaster: Col. Michaël (SES) Svejgaard.

Hi,
I have followed the discussion, but I'm not sure I understand the relevance of the question concerning OPCON. There were probably two K.O. because of the percieved workload.

Oops! Sorry, SES. It looks like I forgot to insert the URL for your web site in my last post. I went to it, clipped the URL, and then forgot to paste it into my post. Old age, I guess. Thanks for joining the thread. Your answer seems to be the only logical explanation.
