28.2.1941-29.7.1941 9. Kompanie Luftnachrichten-Regiment 2.
1941 - 1943 ?????
12.3.1943-7.9.1943 4. Kompanie Luftnachrichten-Funkhorch-Regiment West,
24-05-1944 QU.Abt Bfh.d.W.-SS Qu. (Luftwaffe had leaved Overvoorde)
(6.12.1944 4. Kompanie Luftnachrichten-Funkhorch-Regiment 351),
(8.2.1945 4. Kompanie Luftnachrichten-Abteilung 357).
Perhaps the known details on this Kompanie will help:

9.Kp./Ln.-Rgt. 2
1 Sep 39: Münster as 9.(Funkhorch).
Jul 40: elements transferred to Naerland near Stavanger/SW Norway to carry out Morse and voice radio intercept of RAF traffic.
Dec 40: elements in Norway used to form 9./Ln.-Rgt. 5.
Apr 41: renamed 9./Ln.-Rgt. 40 and immediately replaced (new).
Aug 41: 9./Ln.-Rgt. 2 in The Hague assigned to teletype intercept.
22 Jul 41: at Ypenburg/Holland attached to III./Ln.-Rgt. 3.
26 Jan 42: now in Taormina/NE Sicily.
5 Oct 42: at Riposto/15.6 km S of Taormina.
c. Jan 43: renamed 4./Ln.-Funkhorch-Rgt. West.
Sep 43: 9./Ln.-Rgt. 2 reactivated at Frascati/Italy by re-designating 9./Ln.-Rgt. Afrika; morse intercept, mainly of U.S. bombers.
8 Sep 43: Frascati bombed by U.S. bombers and 9. Kp. suffered 75% casualties.
10 Sep 43: 9.(Funkh.) at Frascati/20 km SE of Rome.
1944: at Padova (Padua) and then Conselve just west and SW of Venice.
Oct 44: moved to Canazei, a small village east of Bolzano.
Nov 44: renamed 1./Ln.-Rgt. 352.
FpNs: (L 34163; L 47916; L 51817)

Comment: many or most of these Luftnachrichten Kpn. went through several transformations during the war. This is a good example of it.

Hi guys,

Found lots of new info on my "project" and thing falling together now finally.

Question, is there a German name for Chi-stelle? As the Seabourn reports use this term a lot in English, but not sure what the German translation is.

Tnx

Hi Remco!

"Chi-Stelle" is german.
They used the german short form for "Chiffrier-Stelle", which means cipher-post or decode-post.

Best wishes
