It's a Ta 152/H-0, clearly recognizable by it's very wide wingspan. The "Fuselage number" is a actually T2-112 (Foreign equipment/ evaluation, a US listing number). The prefix was "FE" during and shortly after the war and was then changed to "T2". The number remained unchanged. This Photograph shows FE-, now T2-112 in Wright-Patterson AFB.Maxschnauzer wrote:Captured aircraft: FW 190D or Ta 152? I don't recall ever seeing fuselage numbers (12-113?) like that near the tail. Was that applied by the allies possibly?

This aircraft has been (in parts) overpainted several times by the allies, as can be seen by the wrongly dimensioned and positioned "Balkenkreuze" and swastika.
This is actually a mystery bird, as up to know it's former (german) identity could not be verified. It is the only surviving Ta152H though. Currently in storage at NASM and expecting (full) restoration soon.
