It's a Ta 152/H-0, clearly recognizable by it's very wide wingspan. The "Fuselage number" is a actually T2-112 (Foreign equipment/ evaluation, a US listing number). The prefix was "FE" during and shortly after the war and was then changed to "T2". The number remained unchanged. This Photograph shows FE-, now T2-112 in Wright-Patterson AFB.
This aircraft has been (in parts) overpainted several times by the allies, as can be seen by the wrongly dimensioned and positioned "Balkenkreuze" and swastika.
This is actually a mystery bird, as up to know it's former (german) identity could not be verified. It is the only surviving Ta152H though. Currently in storage at NASM and expecting (full) restoration soon.

Hello Christian,
Thank you for that very comprehensive ID. Great stuff.

PS: I have had the pleasure of visiting both the NASM in DC and the USAF Museum at Wright-Patt. If you or anyone on the Forum ever get the opportunity both of these places are well worth spending a couple of days exploring and picture taking.
Cheers,
Max

That's another tough one, Sturm.
The E had slightly curved wing edges (when seen in plan view). The F and J had straight edges. It's hard to tell for sure from this angle but would lean towards the E version based on the trailing edge of the portion of the right wing seen here. There may be other clues that elude me.
Cheers,
Max

I can;t identify this one. Its supposedly an late 1945 photo of a plane at Langley RC, which if true could mean that its a captured plane. Then again, might be fake for all I know.

Image

Cockpit reminds me of a Ki-100, so does the tail and overall proportions but the front is all wrong. Front and prop more like a ki-44, but the tail is all wrong for it to be a ki-44. Wings look like they might possibly be folded wings a bit like those of a corsair. Can it be a german prototype?

It looks like a Heinkel He 112. Strange to see it in U.S. Markings. By wars end the Hungarian Air Force may have had a few left, and I do believe on was exported to Japan. I wonder which country had it when it was captured.
