Well, I had assumed the possibility that it might be fake. The link you provided does not seem to be working - points me to a default bing web search engine, but not to any specific image or website (I assume that this was the aim?).uhu wrote:Yup, its a doctored photo with the star added. Look at this. http://www.bing.com/search?q=heinkel+11 ... &FORM=QBLH

Re: Id. german aircraft
It's no doubt a beautiful but little used aircraft. I believe under 100 were produced in total when the Luftwaffe decided to go with the Bf 109. Besides Japan, who initially ordered 30 and used them mainly for pilot training and "design inspiration", and Hungary, Romania also used some as well as Spain (hand me downs from Legion Condor perhaps?).uhu wrote:It looks like a Heinkel He 112. Strange to see it in U.S. Markings. By wars end the Hungarian Air Force may have had a few left, and I do believe on was exported to Japan. I wonder which country had it when it was captured.

No. The Legion Condor flew a pair of prototypes during the SCW, but the He 112s used by Spain were bought directly from Heinkel and were never used by the Legion Condor.also used some as well as Spain (hand me downs from Legion Condor perhaps?).

So, I'll default to anyone with an interesting question.

Re: Id. german aircraft
Hello Sturm,
Your aircraft does not appear to have the "scissors link" tail wheel strut characteristic of the A through C Series, so I'd call this a one a D.

In my opinion it is Lublin R-VIII.

Thank you very much, Karlik
I think you are right
On the other hand I found this image of a He 162 fighter. I think it is a postwar image but I am not sure...
Any idea about the date of the image?

Re: Id. german aircraft
I would guess, this is He 162 A-2, WNr120076, Yellow 4 of JG1, AM59, VH523. This then should be at Canadian Aeronautical Collection in Ottawa, after Sept. 1946. Other possibility, this could be He 162 A-2, WNr120086, AM62, also post war in Canada.
Photo was probably taken end 40s or somewhen 50s.
