Hallo PF
Sheffield England was bombed in 1940. Some months after the bombing, German planes which had been shot down were put on display in many English cities. I got the attached picture from a Sheffield web site. The plane is missing its wings and is a Bf 109 E. I don't believe that the fighters were able to fly as far as Sheffield so it might have been shot down somewhere else. Maybe someone on this forum might be able to identify the unit that the plane belonged to.
